Guarneri del Gesù’s “King” violin belongs to one of the strongest periods of his Cremona workshop. Made in 1735, this violin is known for its bold proportions, rich orange-red varnish, and confident Cremonese outline. Its broader edges, slightly longer corners, and upright f-holes give the instrument a noble form with a strong visual presence.

The 1735 “King” Guarnerius is regarded as one of the best-preserved examples of Guarneri del Gesù’s work. Its maple back, open soundholes, and powerful body design reflect the maker’s individual style during this period. The instrument shows how Guarneri’s craft moved beyond strict refinement, giving the violin a deeper, stronger, and more commanding character.
